Sing out loud, sing out strong and Sing for your Heart
A BIG heartfelt thank you to everyone that supported Heart Research UK in our 2012 Sing for your Heart campagin - from choirs and singers to volunteers and everyone who made a donation, however big or small, you have helped us to help hearts.
This year we have managed to raise almost £11,000, with money still coming in - so thank you all for your help, we couldn't have done it without you!

How you can Sing for your Heart
Every year in December, Heart Research UK holds Sing for your Heart – a nationwide event where we encourage choirs, singers and music groups from all over the country to sing. From train stations and shopping centers, schools and pubs it’s a great way to raise money, spread Christmas cheer and encourage healthy hearts throughout the country.
Organise your own Sing for your Heart event
Singing is a great aerobic exercise; giving both your heart and lungs a fantastic workout and helping to improve your overall cardiovascular system.
Why not organise your own event?

Singing is good for you
Singing exercises your lungs and vocal chords, increases breathing capacity and is great for your heart too as it can lower blood pressure and cortisol levels, a hormone associated with stress. Singing may also help to cope with chronic pain, act as an anti-depressant and boost the immune system. It can promote self-esteem and lift your mood too, so why not belt out a few tunes to release those everyday stresses? Find out more about why singing is good for you here.
If you would like help organising your own event or want to find out more about the events we have going on contact Kathy on events@heartresearch.org.uk or call 0113 234 7474.
