We are currently recruiting for a Corporate Engagement Officer

Responsible to: Head of Income Generation 

Salary: Up to £28,000

Main purpose of the role

- To raise funds for HRUK by reaching a challenging annual income target  
- To be responsible for the efficient management and development of corporate relationships, charity partnerships and associated corporate activity

Specific duties and responsibilities

- Create, manage and develop a range of events and initiatives involving the corporate community through implementing the agreed corporate strategy
- Secure a pipeline of corporate partnerships including commercial, strategic and charity of the year opportunities - regionally and nationally 
- Reach a target number of new business approaches each month to ensure the pipeline is populated
- Manage and develop existing accounts in the portfolio
- Review and develop the corporate strategy 
- Update all corporate resources regularly including the website and printed materials
- Identify, create and develop a programme of new fundraising initiatives to encourage the corporate sector to support HRUK
- Network extensively within the corporate community in order to encourage and develop support for HRUK
- Maintain existing payroll giving agreements and levels of income whilst promoting and establishing new payroll giving agreements with both businesses and agencies

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Essential knowledge and experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs
- Experience of working to challenging financial targets, managing budgets and challenging KPIs
- Ability to deal with a varied workload and capable of prioritising 
- Ability to manage yours and other departments time to meet demanding client deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are managed effectively and successfully
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and proof reading skills 
- Confidence of working independently and willing to be involved in wider team tasks
- Ability to deliver stand-out written proposals and oral presentations which generate new business
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role – commercial or third sector
- A shared commitment to our culture and values
- Interest in and enthusiasm for the charity’s strategy and objectives

Desirable knowledge and experience 
- Knowledge of Donorflex database
- Experience of managing large scale, blue chip accounts
- Experience of working for a medical research charity
- History of working for a national charity
- Wealth of contacts in the corporate sector

Other duties

- Ensure all records are accurately recorded and maintained on the fundraising database and new contacts are added on a regular and timely basis
- Be aware of the overall activities of HRUK and provide informed speeches and presentations to represent HRUK at functions when required
- Assist with other fundraising activities as required and attend HRUK events throughout the year – including evenings and weekends
- Ensure the security of HRUK donations at all times and supply accurate supporting documentation to the finance department for processing
- Contribute ideas to the fundraising team and support innovation and sharing of best practice
- Provide information and articles as appropriate for HRUK publications, e.g. newsletter, web and social media, as well as external publications
- Work closely with the marketing team on promotions, publicity, public relations and advertising 
- Work collaboratively across the charity in order to maximise income and support for HRUK from all sources
- Assist the Head of Income Generation on larger projects when requested
- Provide the Head of Income Generation with regular and prompt activity/analysis reports and attend regular one to one and group meetings
- Research and attend relevant training courses
- Comply at all times with all terms and conditions, policies and procedures detailed in the employee’s handbook
- Comply with Health and Safety legislation 
- Keep abreast of developments in the field of heart disease including the government national service frameworks and initiatives
- Ensure that fundraising activities do not contravene the basic principles of both Heart Research UK and the Fundraising Regulators Codes of Practice, or attract unfavorable publicity
- Whilst this role sits in the fundraising team, the successful candidate will be required to help with any duties required to further the aims and objectives of Heart research UK 
- Have use of a car for travel throughout the UK when required
