Ingredients

  • 6 large cooking apples

  • 250 g blackberries (fresh or frozen)

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 4 tbsp honey

  • 300 g ground almonds

  • 100 g butter

  • 50 g flaked almonds

Directions

  • Peel the cooking apples and chop them into bite-sized pieces.
  • Cook on a very low heat in a saucepan with the water and 2 tbsps of the honey until the apples start to break down. (around 30 mins).
  • Add the blackberries and stir them through to distribute them evenly.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
  • In a food processor, add the ground almonds, butter and remaining honey.
  • Pulse until the ingredients are combined and the mixture resembles a crumble topping.
  • Transfer the apple and blackberry mixture to an ovenproof dish.
  • Stir the flaked almonds through the crumble mixture and spoon on top of the apple and blackberry.
  • Bake for around 20-25 mins until the top of the crumble has browned slightly.
  • Serve warm with cream, custard or frozen yogurt.
