Project Title: Health for all
Award: £7,000

A multi-component programme of hands on cooking, enjoyable physical activities and motivational health education aimed to reach, inspire and integrate different groups of the community in Mid Ulster.  The Health for All project will benefit men over 40, teenage girls and children ages 8-11.

Through fun sessions like canoeing and provision of healthy snacks, young children from deprived backgrounds will gain self esteem and be inspired to keep active and make healthy choices.

Teenage girls will be offered healthier recreational activities that are good for their hearts, including cooking classes and team games.

Men over 40 will be offered health checks and supported in cooking healthily on a budget and keeping active without the need to step into a slimming club or gym.

As well as the physical benefits, the project will instil positive mental and emotional well-being, decrease social isolation, reduce anti-social behaviour and upskill the community.
