Bike Paddle Run - DS Smith

Main content

A team of dedicated DS Smith employees have completed a gruelling 270 mile journey from the Packaging Head Office in Brussels to the Group Head Office in London, in aid of two great charities - Heart Research UK and Cancer Research UK.

Through all types of weather, they tackled the route head-on in three challenging stages - cycling, kayaking and running. All of their progress and updates were posted on Twitter and Facebook.

DS Smith sites across the UK replicated the Directors team activities by participating in their own Healthy Heart Step Challenge which exceeded the 270 miles covered with an amazing 5,666,786 steps.  The HH Step Challenge Cup was awarded to the Redditch Site

Karen Collins, Healthy Heart Champion from DS Smith Redditch said:  “We are all really pleased with the result and have found this to really highlight the difference in steps to the roles within our business.  We have all managed to get in extra steps than we would normally outside of work, with Paul and Steve openly admitting to walking and running more within the week after work than normal, which is great to see!  Small changes to our lifestyles make a massive difference"
