Firehouse Fitness 24 hour challenge for Heart Research UK

Gym goers at an independent gym in Sheffield have raised £7,500 for Heart Research UK by working out for 24 hours straight.

15 members of Firehouse Fitness, co-founded by ex-firemen Dennis Roebuck and Rob McGuigan, completed a variety of fitness challenges including circuit training, pushing a fire engine and a tug of war with a fire hose, with members of the public also taking part throughout the day too.

Dennis said: “It’s been very tiring but just so rewarding. The support we’ve had from everyone carried us through the night for sure.

“We had 15 members who did the full 24 hours, but with the public support too we always had around 30 people every hour working out.”

Local businesses sponsored each hour, and HRUK ambassadors Willie Poching and Tommy Frank were on hand too to show their support.
