Masterclass 2017 Liverpool
A fourth Masterclass in Aortic Surgery took place on 24 November 2017 in the Human Anatomy Resource Centre at the University of Liverpool. This course provided an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in two highly-specialised and complex aortic surgery techniques; total aortic arch replacement and valve sparing root replacement. The course benefited 17 recently-appointed consultant cardiac surgeons and senior trainees in cardiac surgery from across the UK.
We are very grateful to our expert faculty of consultant cardiothoracic surgeons from the following hospitals for giving up their time and sharing their expertise:
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital
Castle Hill Hospital, Hull
Northern General Hospital, Sheffield
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham
St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London
Derriford Hospital, Plymouth
We hope that the new surgical skills learned from the experienced and highly reputable faculty will help to improve the standard of care for aortic patients across the country.
We would like to thank our Aortic Dissection Support Group for helping to fund this Masterclass.
This course was accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
