Thank you to everyone who has supported us in the last couple of months. We have been overwhelmed and humbled. It means so much to us that despite everything going on, you still want to support our work.

Like so many, we have been hit extremely hard by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of our research has been put on hold with many of our fantastic researchers seconded to frontline NHS work. It’s not always easy for projects to get up-and-running again and some will need extra funds to continue and complete successfully. It’s too early to know the exact financial impact this will have on our charity but we anticipate it could be tens of thousands of pounds, perhaps more.

Despite this, we are committed to continuing with all our current projects; we can’t miss any potential breakthroughs which could improve the care of people with heart disease. This pandemic has brought home how important it is to protect the most vulnerable in our society and, unfortunately, those with heart disease are being disproportionally affected.

We won’t benefit from the COVID-19 charity support package announced recently by the government, which is why you, our supporters, are invaluable to us at this time.  We are relying on you to help us raise the extra money we need to continue our vital work.

Our key focus now is supporting our current research and ensuring that, as soon as possible, this research continues. We put a lot of effort into carefully choosing the best projects and investing your donations in the most promising research, and we want to reassure you we will do everything we can to make sure they succeed.

I want to ask you to please continue your support for us today and donate to help us take on heart disease. If you don’t already, perhaps you could consider a monthly donation. We have been so thankful for regular donations during this time, knowing we have something we can rely on every month during this crisis. They have been more important to us than ever. However you choose to support us, whatever you are able to give, we are extremely grateful.

Thank you so much in advance for your support.
