Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) is a condition that can lead to heart attacks, heart failure and death. It is also more common in women than it is in men. Current treatments focus mainly on traditional coronary artery disease, and so CMD patients often become forgotten. MICROFIT is a specialist-designed, tailored diet and exercise programme for CMD patients aimed at improving quality of life and reducing the chance of serious cardiac events, such as a heart attack.
