Grant scheme: TRP
Institution: University of Birmingham
Principle Investigator: Dr Tom E Nightingale

People with spinal cord injury have an increased risk of heart diseases due to the impact that their injury can have on the messages between their brain and heart.

This project will determine the effects of exercise training on heart health in patients with spinal cord injury, using an exercise machine called an arm crank.

This may lead to new exercise guidance for patients and healthcare teams, so that heart health following spinal cord injury can be improved.
