FAQ's

If you would prefer not to receive bags through your door, please contact Unicare by calling 0333 6666 777 or by emailing or by completing their online form here, and they will add you to a ‘no-call’ list so that you do not receive any more bags.

Unicare are unable to collect unused bags, so we recommend that if you receive a bag and do not wish to fill it, you use the bag in your own household or recycle them.

According to Keep Britain Tidy, around 10,000 items of clothing are sent to landfill every 5 minutes in the UK, equating to around £140million in value every year.

When you donate your clothes, they will be sold on in places like eastern Europe, Africa, south-east Asia and the Middle East at affordable prices. This keeps the clothes out of landfill, and Heart Research UK then receives a proportion of the money generated by these sales, which will help take on heart disease here in the UK.

If you have any feedback at all on clothing collections, you can use this page on the Heart Research UK website and we will pass on your comments to the relevant company. Alternatively, you can contact them directly via their websites : www.collection4clothes.co.uk or www.unicarerecycling.co.uk

If you would like to request a collection via Collection4Clothes, they operate across most of the UK. Simply fill in their request form at www.collection4clothes.co.uk/bookacollection/heart-research-uk#book-collection for confirmation that they collect where you live.

Through our partnership with Unicare, we will deliver clothing collection bags across Yorkshire, and the North East and North West of England. We will keep this web page update with where we are distributing bags at any time.

In the bags dropped through your door we welcome donations of good quality, clean clothing; outerwear; paired shoes (tied together); accessories (eg hats, belts and bags); perfumes and costume jewellery.

If you request a collection through Collection4Clothes, nationwide you can donate all varieties of clothing and clothing accessories in a good condition. Donations of non-clothing items vary across the UK. The bag you receive in the post will specify what non-clothing items can be donated in your area. If you have a question about what you can donate then please contact info@collection4clothes.co.uk

We welcome additional donations in black bin liners, as long as we can see from the roadside that there is one of our charity bags alongside or on top of those bags.
