Sleep-disordered breathing means that someone struggles with issues related to their breathing whilst asleep, such as those with sleep apnoea.

People with sleep apnoea have a significantly raised risk of sudden death whilst asleep and it is though this may be to due to disruptions in their heart rhythms, known as arrhythmia.

This project will investigate the causes of these arrhythmias in patients with sleep-disordered breathing, with hope to develop treatments and strategies to reduce the chance of sudden death in people with sleep-disordered breathing.
