Alicia took on the Paris Marathon 2025 for Heart Research UK.
As someone working in healthcare, I see the impact of heart diseases first-hand. I see the fear it brings, the lives it changes, and the families it affects. But I also see the power of research, the hope that advances in treatment and prevention bring to patients and their loved ones. That’s why I’ve chosen to run my first marathon in support of Heart Research UK.
Training for 26.2 miles is one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever taken on. It’s pushing my body and mind in ways I never imagined. But every mile I run is a reminder of why I’m doing this. It’s not just for me, it’s for every patient who’s faced a heart diagnosis, every family that’s waited anxiously in a hospital corridor, and every life that could be changed by the next breakthrough in heart research.
Running has become more than a personal goal, it’s a form of healing, strength, and purpose. A way to de-stress, reconnect with myself, and give back in a meaningful way.
