Catriona is one of the incredible artists participating in our anonymous heART project.
I was touched to be invited to donate my artwork to help raise funds for Heart Research UK. My dad had multiple heart operations, without which we would have lost him decades earlier than we did.
When my dad reached 54 in the early 90’s, he swiftly needed a triple heart bypass and then years later, a heart valve replacement with double heart bypass in 2009. We sadly lost him in 2017 but I will always be grateful for that extra time that advances in research and treatment provided him that had not been available to previous generations.
I hope the paintings help raise as much as possible to continue research, enabling families as much time together as possible. My dad’s heart situation and treatment was a success story thanks to the research and subsequent advances heart charities like Heart Research UK are able to make happen.
