Chris undertook the Sydney Marathon 2026 for Heart Research UK.
My dad was diagnosed with a heart condition that resulted in him needing to have a triple heart bypass in March 2025. Fortunately, the operation was a success and he is now getting back to living his normal life.
His father, my Grandad, also suffered from heart problems and unfortunately passed away after a second heart attack a number of years ago. His father also had a number of heart-related illnesses and doctors believe there may be a genetic condition on the male side of the family, meaning I am likely to be impacted in the years to come.
Heart Research UK is doing incredible research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart diseases and it’s great to be able to help raise funds for the charity while improving my own health at the same time.
