John took on the 2026 AJ Bell Great North Run for Heart Research UK.
“On Sunday, I’ll be competing in my 13th AJ Bell Great North Run and my 5th, raising money for the brilliant Heart Research UK. I’m running in memory of my mum and niece.”
John’s mum sadly died following a cardiac arrest, and his niece, Izzy, died from Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect.
In honour of their memory, John took on 13.1 miles in September, raising money for Heart Research UK and helping to build a future where families can stay together for longer.
