Jessica's story

Jessica undertook the TCS London Marathon 2026 for Heart Research UK.

I am Jessica and I am running the London Marathon in honour of my dad, Edward, who passed away in summer 2025 from a cardiac arrest.

His death was a horrendous shock for all our family and friends, as my dad was an active 56-year-old who had become quite conscious of his diet and lifestyle in recent years. Having shown no symptoms of underlying heart issues, it was shocking to discover that my dad had undiagnosed ischaemic heart disease.

I feel honoured to be running the marathon in his memory for a charity that helps prevent other families from going through a painful and shocking loss like we, and many others, have.
