Tasha's Story

Tasha took on the SuperHalfs challenge for Heart Research UK, running six half marathons across Europe.

In 2018, a week after my birthday and just before I graduated as a nurse, we lost my dad suddenly to heart disease.

I remember the night like it was yesterday. He was as fit and well as ever, having cycled 8 miles the day before, just like he did every day, and I’d spent the whole day with him. Then overnight, the phone rang and everything changed, just like that. One phone call, one blink of an eye, and my whole future was different.

Losing a parent, especially so young, is a pain no one should have to go through. Working through life’s precious moments like graduating, buying your first home, and getting engaged without your dad by your side is heartbreaking.

So, I have decided that I will be running six half marathons across Europe in memory of my dad and raising money for Heart Research UK to try to prevent this happening to someone else.
