Covid-19 Message for Subway and Heart Research

UK Healthy Heart Grant applicants

Due to the current situation with coronavirus we are

postponing the Subway and Heart Research Healthy

Heart grants and we will not be accepting any grant

applications until further notice.

We hope to reschedule these grants later in the year.

FAQ's

Due to COVID-19, Subway and Heart Research UK have put a temporary hold on all Healthy Heart grant applications for 2020. At this time, we do not know how long it will be before our Healthy Heart grants rounds will re-open for applications. We hope to reopen the grants round later in the year, but this may involve adjustments to our entire schedule for the remainder of the year.

We will update our website in due course with the deadlines for the Healthy Heart grants in all regions.

Due to COVID-19, Subway and Heart Research UK have put a temporary hold on all Healthy Heart grant applications for 2020. We hope to reopen the grants round later in the year. As there are likely to be changes to your original application, such as the start and end date, you will be required to resubmit an application at that time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Once we have developed a new schedule for grants in all twelve regions, we will update our website to show the deadlines for applications. The new Healthy Heart grants schedule will begin with the Meridian, Carlton and Anglia regions.

All our Healthy Hearts grant recipients were contacted by email on 31st July 2020. If your project is on hold due to Covid-19, there are three options available to you:

  1. You could adapt your existing project for socially distanced or remote delivery to begin as soon as possible
  2. If your project cannot safely be delivered under current social distancing restrictions, could the outstanding grant money be used differently? We are willing to consider changes to your budget given current circumstances including the purchasing of equipment (e.g. computers, blood pressure monitors, weighing scales, exercise equipment etc.), but you must be able to demonstrate how the new equipment will lead to positive changes in heart health for your community.
  3. You could decide to end your project and any money that was due to you will be put back in the pot for future Healthy Heart grants.

Grant recipients are required to notify Heart Research UK of their plans by emailing helenf@heartreseacrh.org.uk and healthyheartgrants@heartresearch.org.uk
