Hello everyone and welcome to the spring edition of our corporate fundraising round up. Here’s what we’ve been up to, what’s to come in the next few months and how you can get involved.

Project update

The EXSEL scholarship scheme at the University of Leeds gives talented medical students the valuable opportunity to be involved in research projects, and receive mentorship and training in research techniques from eminent research leaders. Heart Research UK have sponsored the scheme since it began.

Welcoming new partners

A huge welcome to our new partners, Thorite, who have chosen Heart Research UK as their charity partner of the year. The press release announcing the new partnership reached 1.2 million people!

With thanks to

Transport for London

TFL invited us to give a talk to help educate their employees about the significant impact of heart disease in women.

adi Group

adi Group Ltd continue to support our work in The Midlands and donated £10,000 to us at their recent 32nd Birthday ‘Group Away Day’ event. Incredible!

The Balmoral Hotel

The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh is partnered with our Heart of Scotland Appeal. Their hotel rooms and suites have information about our work in Scotland and give their guests the opportunity to donate. We are very grateful to have such an iconic hotel as a partner.

Engage with your teams and get involved in our Treasure Your Heart campaign!

It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

  1. Request donation envelopes and print off your collection point poster
  2. Ask your teams to have a rummage for old, broken, pre-loved pieces of jewellery and watches
  3. Send donations back to us via Freepost

It won’t cost you a penny in time or money, and it could help you reach your ESG objectives by recycling, reducing waste and engaging staff around sustainability. Staff working from home can get involved too, by requesting their own envelopes and posting back to us directly.

What’s coming up

Primary School programme

On 10th June we will be in Liverpool as part of a pilot project with Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, engaging with primary schools with the aim of reducing the incidence of cardiovascular disease in deprived areas of the city. This follows on from a successful first year of our KS2 Primary School Programme.

World Heart Day 29th September 2022

It’s never too early to start planning. Following on from the success of Heart Month this year, we’d be delighted for you to set up a day or week long fundraiser to help us raise awareness of heart disease.

Get a workplace team together for one of our running events

These include the Leeds 10km, the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, the Cardiff Half Marathon, and the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.
