Pitta Pizzas

Replacing a takeaway pizza with your own custom-made pizza is a good way to eat less saturated fat, salt, and sugar. Tasty and heart healthy too!

Ingredients

  • 2 x wholemeal pitta breads

  • 2 tbsp tomato puree 

  • 1 pinch dried oregano

  • 40 g grated mozzarella

  • BBQ chicken topping
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce 

  • 10 g grated mozzarella

  • 10 g sliced roast chicken breast torn into small pieces

  • 10 g sweetcorn

  • 10 g sliced mushrooms

  • Pesto topping
  • 1 tbsp classic green pesto

  • 10 g grated mozzarella

  • 1 x large vine-ripened tomato sliced

  • Pinch dried oregano

Directions

  • Preheat air fryer to 200C.
  • Assemble pitta pizzas by spreading your chosen sauce over the top of the breads and sprinkling with cheese.
  • Add your chosen toppings, pressing down so they don’t fall off.
  • Cook 1 or 2 pizzas at a time (depending on the size of your air fryer). Carefully place assembled pizza into the air fryer basket and cook for 4-6 mins until cheese is golden brown and bubbling.
  • Lift out and slice into pieces. Serve while warm.
